Deputy Chairperson Of The MPR Asks Bali To Implement Sustainable Tourism
JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the MPR RI Eddy Soeparno asked policy makers in the Bali area to implement the concept of sustainable tourism as a new trend in the world of global tourism.
Eddy said Bali has been Indonesia's best storefront in tourism so that he supports tourism development accompanied by efforts to expand the use of renewable energy.
"Development of renewable energy in Bali accompanied by a commitment to preserve the environment will provide added value which makes Bali more attractive as an international tourist destination," said Eddy in a written statement received in Jakarta, Saturday.
He conveyed this in the MPR Goes to Campus agenda at Udayana University, Bali.
According to him, Udayana University has become the 23rd campus in the MPR Goes to Campus series since it was trusted as the leader of the MPR in October 2024.
Eddy expressed his gratitude because in every visit, the lecturers and students responded enthusiastically to discuss environmental issues and the development of renewable energy.
In an effort to realize sustainable tourism, he encouraged Udayana University to prepare the best human resources for innovation to develop renewable energy.
"One of the main obstacles in developing renewable energy is our human resources that are not ready with renewable energy innovations that continue to develop. Therefore, we encourage Udayana University to take the initiative to prepare the best human resources," he said.
